By the way, I got over that little slight pretty quickly. The Pastor went on to deliver a very special and eloquent wedding ceremony. The joy of the happy couple was absolutely transcendent.

It was a long trip back home — like 7 ½ hours long. But it was a great wedding, and it was definitely worth the drive time to see the results; the love in the eyes of the happy couple; the satisfaction and joy in the eyes of their parents — particularly those of our good friends — was truly a beautiful thing.

And the lesson of the “Tractors” comment? Let’s call that an added bonus. Nothing earth-shattering or life-changing, but perhaps rather a well-placed nudge in the ribs.
